Type 1 MOT

Type 1 MOT is an aggregate that acts as a sub base. It can be made from either crushed limestone or granite and is a highly cost-effective and popular aggregate. Unlike Type 1 Recycled Crush Concrete, MOT produces fewer fines and is a favourite of many builders.

Type 1 MOT can vary in size. The range of particle sizes starts at 40mm down to a fine dust product. Its ability to be effectively compacted makes it perfect for use as a sub base.

The main uses of Type 1 MOT are:

  • Building bases
  • Patios
  • Car parks
  • Footpaths
  • Highways
  • Driveways

Type 1 Recycled Crushed Concrete

This aggregate is made from recycled high quality concrete and brick.  It is extremely versatile and cost effective, primarily used for sub bases and roads. This aggregate is larger in size than our Type 1 MOT. It compacts down into a hard wearing surface and we screen the material thoroughly to remove dust and fines avoiding the risk of any lockage to drainage.

The main uses of Type 1 Recycled Crushed Concrete are:

  • Paths
  • Roads
  • Patios
  • Sub bases
  • Drainage Layers
  • Haul Roads
  • Retaining Walls
  • Barriers
  • Terraced Gardens
  • Compactors

Type 2 6F2 Hardcore

Type 2 6F2, otherwise known as Recycled 6F2/ rushed Hardcore is a product made from recycled waste materials sourced responsibly from construction and demolition products.

It is sized anywhere between 75mm and fine dust, this product does naturally differ in size due to it being sourced from a recycled product. It can be used as a sub base for construction and on highways and is perfect as a base layer of hardcore before being topped with one of our Type 1 aggregates.

The main uses of Type 2 6F2 are:

  • Building sub bases
  • Paths
  • Driveways
  • Patios
  • Highways
  • Piling Mats
  • Hard standings

2 sizes:

4mm – 10mm shingle

4mm – 20mm shingle

Shingle is a multi-purpose gravel used for domestic, construction and commercial products. It consists of a mix of angular and rounded gravel that has been screened to remove fines. Before delivery, all our  shingle is washing making it one of the most attractive and popular decorative stone on the market.  It is very versatile and has many different domestic applications including:

  • Drainage
  • Pebble Dashing
  • Weed suppressant
  • Garden paths
  • Driveways
  • Water features

Building Sand

This is one of the most popular aggregates used in the construction industry. Naturally occurring composed of mineral elements and fine rock, Building Sand is a soft mortar sand ideally suited for use in an extensive range of projects. Building Sand should be a constant colour. The colour can range depending on where it is sourced from and the amount of clay that it contains. The colour can range from dull light grey colours to more vivid yellow and orange colours.

Our Building Sand is screened to ensure it does not contain impurities and large stones to ensure it is of the highest quality. The finer the sand, the smoother the resultant mix will be.

It primary use:

  • Bricklaying
  • Internal rendering
  • Paving
  • Bedding of pond liners

Sharp Sand

Sharp Sand can be known as washed grit, masonry sand or concreting sand. It is a coarse aggregate ranging from 0.06mm – 2mm in size and it renowned for its flexibility and strength.

Sharp sand is very effective at providing thorough drainage and has the ability to improve the growing capabilities of lawns thanks to it water-permeable nature.

It primary use:

  • Block paving
  • Slab laying
  • Screeding
  • External rendering
  • Lawn bases
  • Concrete

Postcrete

Postcrete is a ready mix for setting posts. Simply lay and add water and it can set posts within 5 – 10 minutes.
